METAL MANIACS JULY 2004 ISSUE

I reviewed this band a year or two ago undert their previous moniker Suicide
Culture. I was fairly impressed with their savage breakdowns and solid
structures, but noticed a few things that needed some work. Well I'll be
damned if this release doesn't shred the last record like warm cheese in a
food processor. With the speed and aggression levels jacked up to a searing
level, and more violently evil lyrics and tonesthan before, Funeral Age
strike back hard. A furious seven-track release "Fistful..." rips with the
tones of Krisiun but with more of a USDM feel, i.e. Angel Corpse dusted with
frigid Scandinavian BM harmonies. Diverse time changes and restless
intensity drive the entire disc with a vengeance. Some of the guitars get a
little out of sync with each other in a few of the exceedingly fast
build-ups, but otherwise this is a supremely satisfying maelstrom of charged
death sure to have your hair in a whirlwind for ages to come. Coinciding
with the album title, the band also sent me a shirt reading "What Would
Jesus Fuck?" on the back, which can be obtained through the band for those
with a need to offend.
